2015 TLA Sale Results
The 6th Annual Texas Longhorns Australia Sale was held on Sunday 7 June 2015.
A total of 36 head were sold for $40,450.
Skinny Lizard Bubbles with her 6 weeks old fullblood heifer calf Skinny Lizard Spurt (Registered Fullblood females) sold by Geoff Dawson from Skinny Lizard Longhorns was the top priced female at $8,200. She was purchased by Mike Ryan. This was an Australian record for sale of a longhorn female.
Southern Cross Ironman (Registered Fullblood bull) sold by Geoff Dawson of Skinny Lizard Longhorns (Bred by Don Constable from Southern Cross Longhorns) sold for another Australian record for sale of a longhorn bull, $7,250. He was also purchased by Mike Ryan. Ironman was originally sold in the 2012 TLA sale for $5,000 as a 12 month old Bull.
Speargrass Jewel (Purebred) sold by Nicole & Keith Burns from Speargrass Longhorns for the top price of $3,100. She was purchased by David Ovic.
Trophy Steers sold to a top of $1,500.
Younger Steers sold to a top of $1,150
Special auction items sold at the end of the Sale included:-
Michael & Lynda Bethel donated a Condamine bell and it sold for $700 to Julie Mammen a local Gunnedah lady.
Marilyn Terbutt donated a longhorn quilt and it sold for $550 to Gordon & Desley Davidson.
The TLA’s Canadian Visitors Deb Lesyk & Dwight Overlid donated a very special framed longhorn painting, that was painted on a Canadian maple leaf. It sold for $800 to Geoff & Belinda Dawson.
